Onsite Activities

In the span of several hours you could be conducting a meeting in our Elephant Room and then be outside watching an endangered Southern White Rhino lumber about and wallow in the mud while you perch upon a classic 1950’s era Dodge Power Wagon alongside your passionate and educated safari guide. Our goal is to share the feeling of awe that these animals impart, and in turn share Safari West’s passion for conservation.

African Safari Adventures

Our safaris are not to be missed! It’s the only way to see many of our splendid animals! Safaris go out at scheduled times during the morning and afternoon hours. Please see our African Safaris page for more detailed information on these adventures. Private safaris are available for your group, and wine, beer and appetizers can be added to private safaris for additional cost. Please take a look at our Specialty Safari Adventures page for some of our options!

Educational Presentations

Also available for your group are educational presentations by qualified staff members. We have Keeper Chats, which are an opportunity to learn more about the hard work our animal caretakers put in each and every day here on property.

We also have Bone Presentations available, which are conducted by members of our osteology team. These presentations are focused on the valuable role our osteology team is playing on property, as well as what scientists can learn from examining bones. For these talks the team will bring out part of the osteology lab’s bone collection to demonstrate important points. Bone Presentations can focus on a variety of educational subject matter, so please just ask if you have a particular interest!

Both variations of presentations are approximately 45 minutes in length.

Animal Presentations

For a little something extra we can schedule a visit with an educator who can bring in a collection of ambassador animals for an exciting and educational private presentation in your own meeting space.

Since going out on safari will typically make you nice and hungry, we do have a BBQ lunch or dinner we can reserve for you! See our Savannah Grill page for more details on our BBQ buffet meals. We also may be able to do special menus or wine receptions for your group. Tell us what you have in mind!

Spend a relaxing evening in an authentic African Safari Tent! Don’t worry about the word ‘tent,’ as we have outfitted these tents to keep you as comfortable as possible. Our accommodations feature pillow top mattresses, handmade furniture, space heaters, warming blankets, ceiling fans, en suite bathrooms, and  a porch with a seating area featuring scenic views of our animal enclosures or our serene lake. Take some time away and spend an evening unplugged!

There are a variety of options for a visit out to Safari West! There are meeting spaces available, staff retreats, team building days and much more! If you have a particular purpose for your visit let our group business department know.
