About the Speaker:

James Fitzgerald is the Boating Safety Officer for the University of California, Davis, and Training Director for the Scientific Boating Safety Association. James began his career serving the U.S. Coast Guard for 13 years as a boat operator and teaching service members in different aspects of the USCG’s missions. Since 2005 James provides watercraft safety instruction and supports scientific field expeditions on behalf of the University of California, State, Federal agencies and NGO’s supporting education, research and conservation efforts for our world’s oceans and inland waterways.  The more responsible we are as boaters, the safer the water becomes for the people that enjoy it and the wildlife that inhabit it.
