About the Speaker:
Peter Disney is the Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator at Save Our Shores. Peter grew up around the San Francisco Bay Area, finally settling in Santa Cruz after attending the University of California, Santa Cruz where he studied Critical Race and Ethnic Studies. Before joining Save Our Shores he worked at Hard Core Compost, where he developed a passion for engaging people in conversations around the land-sea connection and environmental justice. Similarly, Peter has developed a strong policy and advocacy background through his work with the Harm Reduction Coalition of Santa Cruz County.
At Save Our Shores, Peter is a vital part of the programs team, where he facilitates public cleanup events, coordinates and trains Sanctuary Stewards in our volunteer program, attends outreach events to engage the community in issues of marine conservation, and assists in educational programs.
