Join us in commemorating a remarkable milestone – this year marks our 30th anniversary at Safari West! We are thrilled to have come this far since our journey began. As we reflect on this significant achievement, we are immensely grateful for the growth we’ve experienced and the joy and wonderment we’ve shared with all of you throughout the years.
We invite you to be a part of our celebration by sharing your cherished Safari West memories. We want to hear how our preserve has touched your heart, which moments have remained etched in your mind, and how we can continue to create unforgettable experiences for you.
Perhaps you had a breathtaking encounter with a giraffe that made your heart skip a beat. Maybe you witnessed the heartwarming sight of one of our baby animals like a giraffe or our baby rhino taking their first steps and found yourself cheering them on. Or it could be that exploring the savannah on a safari vehicle, spending the night glamping in a luxury tent, and waking up to the sounds of wildlife made you feel like you were transported to Africa.
No matter the nature of your favorite Safari West memory, we want to hear about it.
We invite you to share all your stories—big and small, funny and heartwarming, adventurous and peaceful. As a token of our appreciation, we’ll be selecting several storytellers to receive gift certificates. These certificates can be used for your next visit to Safari West or as a gift to a special loved one.
How to Participate: It’s as easy as 1-2-3!

- Submit Your Safari West Memories to us by filling out the provided form below.
- Win Amazing Gift Certificates: By sharing your Safari West memories, you will automatically enter our anniversary giveaway.
Our panel of team members will carefully review each submission and select multiple winners to receive generous gift certificates. At the end of each month, starting with our anniversary month in July, we’ll give out a two-person safari tour gift certificate. By the end of this giveaway, ending December 1st, 2023, we’ll give a grand prize of a safari for four, dinner, and an overnight stay in one of our tent cabins!

The Safari West Giveaway will run until December 1st, 2023.
- No purchase is necessary to enter or win.
- The giveaway is open to individuals who have visited Safari West and are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
- Employees of Safari West, their immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, and children) are not eligible to participate.
- To enter, participants must submit pictures, videos and/or stories of their visit to Safari West through the designated entry form above.
- Participants are allowed a maximum of four (4) entries to provide fair opportunities for everyone.
- The winners will be selected by the Safari West team based on the creativity, originality, and quality of the submissions.
- The giveaway winners will receive gift certificates to be used at Safari West.
- The giveaway winners will be notified by the email provided when submitting within 7 days of the selection.
- The giveaway winners must claim their prize within 30 days of being notified and may be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release.
- By entering the giveaway, participants agree to release and hold harmless Safari West and its affiliates, employees, agents, and assignees from any liability in connection with the giveaway.
- Safari West reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the giveaway at any time and for any reason.

“My husband Gary and I are always looking for creative ways to make memories with our kids and grandkids–so we gifted a visit to Safari West in Christmas 2021. We were fortunate enough to have visited Kenya back in 2019 and were able to experience the animals in their natural habitat. We shared our stories and pictures with family, and one of our grandkids asked if we would please take him the next time we went to Kenya. This trip to Safari West was our effort to allow the entire family to experience a small piece of what we experienced while visiting Kenya.
We planned the visit over the Fourth of July holiday in 2022 and stayed overnight for 2 nights. They still talk about the trip today! Fun was had by all.
Mornings began down at the restaurant where the early risers enjoyed coffee. Our oldest grandson was able to have a little freedom, and he looked forward to joining us early for muffins at the restaurant (while his parents and sister slept in). The kids loved wandering around and watching the antics of the playful animals.
The “tents” that we all stayed in were a very similar experience to what we had while in Kenya (at Elephant Bedroom), and the animal safari allowed us to share some of what it feels like to see endangered animals in a more natural habitat.
Following our visit, I shared the news of the birth of your baby rhino with all of them–and we came to realize that Momma was likely pregnant when we visited. Safari West will forever hold a special place in all of our hearts.

“In May 2023 five of us went to Safari West to celebrate two special birthdays. We are Best Friends in our 70’s & 80’s who share a love of animals. As a group of BFF’s we usually try to go on adventures together. This year we decided to go to Safari West in Santa Rosa. My sister (one of the birthday girls) came from Texas & Lynn (birthday girl) came from Tehachapi. The rest of us live in Sacramento.
This really was an amazing adventure. After arriving and putting our things in our glamorous tent cabin, we took a jeep tour. Our guide was a young, enthusiastic, extremely knowledgeable young lady, Kate, who is majoring in zoology. She made every minute of our tour fun. Our tour was at 4 p.m. and so many of the animals were active. Our first main tour stop was with the Giraffes and one of these magnificent curious animals inspected all of us very gently. Lynn & I were riding on the top of the jeep and one of the Giraffes loved Lynn – smelling her, rubbing up against her & actually putting its head in her lap. Wow!
Other highlights included the new baby Rhino named Otto. He did zoomies around his play area – even bumping into his very patient mom at one time. We stayed watching Otto play until he finally wore himself out and stopped to nurse. The Ostriches were also very active & fun. One of them fell in love with our Jeep & put on a show for us. After the jeep tour, we walked around for a tour of the Aviary area and other locations.
Our day ended with an amazing dinner in the treetop area. It was a perfectly served, gourmet meal. After dinner, we stayed the night in a tent cabin where we could listen to so many different animals throughout the night. A perfect experience and one that none of us will ever forget.”
